Policy Statement on Conflict Minerals
ChenYang supports the efforts of human rights organizations to end the violence and atrocities in Central Africa (the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and its nine neighboring countries: the Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, Zambia, Angola, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda).
According to extensive reports, the main driving force behind this violence is the abundant natural minerals tin, tungsten, tantalum, and gold, now known as "conflict minerals". Armed groups compete with each other to control the mineral deposits in the region, and use forced labor to extract and sell minerals, which in turn funds ongoing violence.
In August 2012, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the final regulations on the procurement of conflict minerals, as detailed in Section 1502 of the Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Chenyang will review annually whether there are "conflict minerals" originating from Central Africa in the products produced or subcontracted by our company, and whether these "conflict minerals" are used in the production process, in accordance with the requirements of this regulation.
Chenyang will strive to act in accordance with the practices reached by its peers in the industry, as these practices can ensure the procurement of non conflict minerals by enterprises; These industry peers include the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) and the Global Electronic Sustainability Initiative (GeSI).
At present, Chenyang has established and implemented the "Management Measures for Investigating Conflict Minerals", and requires our suppliers to adopt policies and management systems related to conflict minerals to ensure that there are no conflict minerals involved in the supply chain. According to the definition of 'unrelated to DRC conflict', products provided to Chenyang must meet the following conditions:
If the elements necessary for production and functionality provided do not include tantalum, tin, tungsten, or gold, no inspection is required.
If the products supplied to Chenyang contain these minerals, they must come from areas outside DRC, be recycled from waste materials, or be provided by factories that have been verified and verified as' conflict free minerals'.
3. Sign the "Declaration of Conflict Free Metals" as a commitment, and Chenyang will conduct periodic verification of direct suppliers; If any illegal use is found, the procurement process will be suspended and corresponding responsibilities will be pursued.
